Greetings fellow bakebakebakers!

I have a MY FIRST WEDDING CAKE (dunt-dunt-DAAHH!) coming up and the bride has requested one of the layers to be basic white/butter cake with MAPLE buttercream. While I like maple, I haven't ever made maple buttercream, and so far the recipes I have found online haven't gotten (m)any reviews from people who have tried them.

I had my first cupcake catering gig, providing the sweets for a staged reading of 7 short plays. It was a great show, and I LOVED making these goodies. Made about 14 dozen mini cupcakes for the event. With a one rack oven, it took some time! Got lots of compliments though, and passed out a bunch o' business cards ( Read more... )

I hesitate in calling this one a "pie", because that's not really the point. It's mainly an excuse to eat puff pastry with one of my favourite meals: lamb shanks. I love puff pastry.
